While attending the recent 2012 Geezer Reunion in Tucson, AZ, a friend asked how I became a fiction writer. Simple, if someone is an accomplished BS-er, put that stuff into a novel. Another attendee mentioned that I might want to teach some classes about fiction writing. I just did.

I moved to Sedona, AZ. when I retired from Bechtel/Fluor Daniel-type work in 1999 and began writing in 2000. This area is known for various weird things and people, except for me of course. I regularly use a series approach for historical fiction, similar to Wilbur Smith's method, who happens to be my favorite author. I knock out two to three novel-length manuscripts annually, hence my recent flurry of publishing in Amazon Kindle. See: www.jerryleeyork.com . I have to get another 30+ completed stories rewritten into eBook format as I'd hate to croak and not have them published.

A parting bit of wisdom is that it's great to be a fiction writer because if someone pisses you off, you can put them into a story and . . .

Remember, buy eBooks (mine), and save trees.
    Ciao,
    Jerry Lee York
