Report any problems you may encounter or ask questions if you are having difficulty using this site.  (Have you checked FAQ first?)

I'm having a little trouble with the advanced search feature in the ABI directory.  I'm trying to do some geographic searches, but when I tried putting "is" "Conroe" and "is" "Texas", I get no matches.  However, I accidentally selected "does not contain" "Texas" and I got hits.  I attempted to search for people in Dallas, using "is" for city and state, and came up with no matches.  Believe me, I can understand if the problem is picnic (problem in chair, not in computer), but I'm at a loss.  Thanks for any help/guidance.  Gail R. Gantt, RT75

    Hi Gail,

I am not exactly sure what the problem you are encountering is.  I just tried running an advanced search, and only entered city "is" Conroe and came up with 9 entries.  I also did it for city "contains" Conroe, and it worked for me as well.

Are you familiar with taking screenshots?  If so, do you think you could replicate your issue and send me a screenshot of what you see?

Something that I noticed which might be the problem is that you were doing a search for the state of Texas.  Most of the information in the directory is under the abbreviations (so in this case, search for TX).  I think there are only 3 names that appear when you enter the full spelling.

Abbreviating Texas didn't occur to me.  I am familiar with screenshots and will attempt to send it to you.  Also, I did not try to use "contains" as a search feature.  Sigh.....I figured it would be a picnic problem....

LOL, no worries.  I don't think you need to send any screenshots since I am guessing the issue was the Texas vs. TX thing.  I will point that out to Duane see if we can figure out some way to make things consistent.

Hi Dawn, I just noted something that needs to be corrected.  I'm not sure if this is the right forum to send this.  Under Black Camel, Bruce Griffice is listed as RT 76.  He was RT 75.  Thanks! Gail

Hi,  There should be a direct way to enter a name for the Black Camel.   My brother , Robert Savage, DH '66, died 9/93.    Thanks for you help,       Richard Savage, DH '68.

    Hello Richard,

I am glad you brought this up.  We did implement a new feature this past year, Shifting Sands.  It is an announcement forum that people can use to post any type of announcement and can be found in the Reconnect Section of the website.
