Hey everybody. It's a lovely day and I'm going deer-hunting, which will actually consist of walking quietly behind my friend Ed as I've never shot a gun in my life. Perhaps I will today.
The best Halloween costumes last night were a pack of hot fly-fishermen and some pretty mysterious ladies who dressed as...Arabs! I thought they did a nice job of it. I was Entropy, and dead due to a cerebral hemhorrage. holla if you hear me.

Hi all, just wanted to say "HAPPY HALLOWEEN" to everyone. I was just telling my husband that I wish our kids could just go and trick or treat like we used to in Saudi. We used to have so much fun, I wish my kids could have that experience. Anyway, just letting you all know I was thinking about yall. Take Care.

Send me an email and say hello so I can catch up with everyone!

Hi just checking in! Sorry to all thoses who have been tring to contact me. My webtv decided to die on me. I am back up but have no address yet. I have been very ill. I found out I was prganent and we were so happy. Because of my disability they sent me to a specialist. They found that my baby had a very rare form of syndrom called Cystic Hygroma and had no other choice but to terminate the prenancy because fo the sevarity and the risk to loss of my life. I had it done and I hate myself but we really had no other choice it was eather the baby or the baby and me. I could not chance that they only gave the baby a 5% chance of serviving at all. After the procedure I ended back in the hospital do to to much loss of blood. I had to be given 2 units of blood and was severly dehydrated. This has been the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I would have given anything to die myself to give the baby life but it would not have worked. What the baby had is a 1 in a 10000 chance. The chance if it happening again is 1 in a million. So we will continue to try to have another baby as soon as possible. It just is so hard on the body and the mind. I have to keep telling myself that there was no other choice. It was creamated monday I was hopping that it would help me understand but it hasn't. My iron is still low but I am able to function. I do not want any more blood given to me. Please pray for me and my family so we can finally have peace. Please understand that we had no other choice we wanted this baby, God had other plans. I am thankfull to have life. By the way the baby was terminated at 3 months gestation.
If you know anybody who have gone through this please let them know thay are not alone. I will check in again as soon as I have a address to give out. Love you lots windy

It's been a long time since I've posted anything on this site, so here is what is important.

My wife, Melissa, and I finally had a son in 2001 (Jack Ethan). Then just three years and a day later we had twin daughters (Isabella and Julianna). They will be 4 and 1 respectively at the beginning of November. If you want to see pictures, here is a link to my wife's photo gallery (http://www.picturetrail.com/emyrald). I just checked and June is the latest date, I'll have to get more pic's added.

Just wanted drop in and say hello...so many exciting changes going on. My folks are new residents of Austin, finally. They lost all their belongings (everything) in Katrina, but thankfully had sold and closed on their house in MS Friday - Katrina hit Monday. The house was still standing, but unfortunately had 9ft of water in it..The most important thing is that they are safe and sound here in Austin. Starting over from scratch, but safe. We are so thankful to have them close! My husband and I are expecting our first little one, Jackson Croix Wagenblast, on November 18th.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who have suffered losses due to Katrina and Rita.

Hey guys!

I don't think I've been to this page in forever. So much has changed in my life. Where to begin. Well, I married Michael and we've had a couple of years together in a house that we absolutely love. We have three cats and three dogs, a basset hound named Jackson, a chocolate lab named Jake and a white german shep. named Memphis. Needless to say we are never bored. Michal worked for the county for about 3 and a half years and is now working for a private firm as a civil engineer. He will be getting his PE soon. I am done teaching for now...I did it for about 3 years and then I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and so...I now work for a company called "The Teacher's Workshop" We have a speaker's Bureau and we put on conferences all over the contry, which is kind of cool bc I get to travel, and I am also doing some editing of videos (educational ones). I am really enjoying it. My boss also just wrote his first lesiure book called Haunted Atlanta, and is going to be on TV here in ATL and I am setting up the publicity for that (he has written 9 educational books, but that doesn't really count in the real world.)
It was great reading about all of you. Anytime you are in the area feel free to stop by or call. I miss you guys. I miss home! I guys it's always a part of you no matter what huh? Mike and I will probably be here 5-7 more years and then we are thinking of moving to the coast, FL I hope, he is pushing for Arizona, but I want to move to FL, so well see. Well, I love ya! Keep in touch.

Dear All and Ryan Stevens especially,
Yes I did put my Xmas lights up in Abq, despite instructions not to, and my Saudi colleagues in the Security Department kindly left my address off the list of houses with lights, who were later called in to Personnel to be told to take them down. (Someone, you bet I don't know who) ratted on me directly to Personnel and I was duly called in and told to take them down. Which I was going to refuse to do, but and this is the point, another hero rose in defiance before me, he lived at the bottom of "H" Circle his name was Rick, his dog was Mikey; when he was called into Personnel he went straight to the VP's office where he was told of course he could keep his lights up, so there lies the truth, well done Rick!
I admit I was one of the Father Christmas Men to but not to the drunk bit!!

Hey! Haven't visited for quite a while so I thought I'd give a shout out to everyone that knew me back in Abqaiq. I just heard about Deniz - my thougths go out to her family and friends.
I'm back in Cyprus after finishing a degree in English Lit - been back for 3 years now, and work as editor in a travel trade publication out here. I visit the Middle East quite a lot, and it's weird going back to that region, but not going 'home' to Saudi. I dread going to Bahrain because I know I'll be nostalgic looking at the causeway!
Every time I visit this page I begin to remember all the good times in Saudi, and all the stuff we used to get up to.. :) At the time we were dying to get out, but now, looking back, we created some everlasting memories.
For all those that knew me, feel free to get in contact! I'd love to hear from some of you again - it's been too damn long!

Hi, I was in Dhaharan from 1976-1979. It's been so long, I forgot the name of the school where I went to Kindergarden, 1st, 2nd, and part of the 3rd grade. It's in the big main camp, I used to walk to school. My Dad is there now, and found our old house. After Dhaharan, my Dad stopped working for Aramco and worked for Saudia Arabian Airlines and we moved to Jeddah. I prefer Dharan any day over Jeddah. Well, I'm grown up and have kids of my own, and now my second home is in Istanbul, but I'll always remember my day's in Dhaharan, like taking field trips to the dunes at the beaches. If any of you were there or rememeber, give me a note...I rememeber my third grade teacher there had only one useful hand and she had dark hair and she was a little heavy. Anybody remember her?
Thanks... Tim

Wow, what a flash back reading all of these messages...I'm at work right now and needed a break so I looked Aramco up and found this! Things are going well for me, I traveled for three years after high school, then settled down back in Canada, went to school, got a degree, got a job, got married, all that good stuff. I now work as a high school counsellor which I love. Now and then I still hear from former bratts, some of the stuff I have heard over the years I haven't seen on this website, so I thought I'd pass on what I heard.

Mary O'Flaherty (DH'95) - got married, I believe to an army boy in Hawaii!

Neil Carr (ABQ'94??)I had met him once or twice in Saudi and we ended up at the same High School in Calgary, although I didn't recognize him at first he was short and cute when I met him in Saudi, and tall and very good looking by the time he got to Calgary. He's doing a degree (or done) in buisness now and last time we chatted he still lived in Calgary.

Mesha Morison (Dh'95) - My wonderful next door neighbor in Saudi!!! She passed away a few years ago from cancer, very sad, she was the sweetest person with an infectious laugh!

Thats about it, I would love to hear what everyone else is up to!!

Cheers!

To Gretchen161@msn.com in answer to her question regarding Lebanese cookbook
Snowbar is pine nuts. Silq is swiss chard (they roll and stuff the leaves
and use the stalk in salads..stalk looks like celery.) Gourds are Koussa or zucchini.
According to my friends who've been married to Lebanese for more than 20 years
squash isn't really used in Middle Eastern Cooking. Hope this helps.

Thanks for inquiring, Nicole. As you all know, my family is from south Lousiana. Fortunately, everyone in my family was well west of the storm, so they're okay. My husband's family had a harder time of it. They mostly live in the New Orleans area and his sister has lost her car and everything in her home. She and her children are safe and on their way to the northeast. His step-father was trapped in a hospital for many days without food or water and is now without a job. His mother actually spent the whole week in City Hall with the mayor and staff. Many of our friends are without a home and some are already making plans to permanently relocate to other states. I am extremely thankful that everyone I care about is at least safe. I am heart-broken to see the images on the news of the people of New Orleans suffering so much. The city will never be the same, I'm afraid. My love to everyone...Candace

Hey, it's so devestating seeing the victims of Katrina on TV. Being a nurse, it makes me want to fly down and help out. Ramsey (aka Dr. Umar) email me, surely your a GI doc by now.
It saddens me to hear of Heather Boyes deteriorating health. I pray that everything goes well and I wish her a speedy recovery. She is in my thoughts.
Tommy, hello? Dont you know, we were the class of 90? Suffered some long term memory loss huh?lol
Til next time.

I want to encourage all of you out there to please contribute in whatever way that you can to the hurricane disaster relief...cash donations, food, supplies, or volunteering.

There are tens of thousands of people from New Orleans that have been brought to Houston. I have spent the last two days in the Astrodome helping these people, and so much more support is needed and will be needed for weeks to come. These people lost everything, yet they remain very positive and are extremely appreciative of all of the volunteers. However, having lost everything, many don't know where they will go from here and how they will find their families, if they can.

Please help in whatever way that you can. These people need you!

My heart is broken for those who were in the hurricane. Not being there and not seeing what is going on makes it hard to believe. It makes me want to cry everytime I turn on the t.v. God Bless all of you brats out there who are there. I am praying for you.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the hurricane victims. My alumni group is volunteering for Aramark to help serve meals at the Houston Astrodome. If any ones is in the area and can lend a helping hand, please let me know. I was able to make contact with Brandy Simoneaux-Simmons and because she is living in Gonzales they are doing fine...just a few repairs needed to their roof. Julie- I am truly sorry for your loss. I will look through my photo albums and send you whatever I might find. I'm sure you have plenty of helping hands, but feel free to contact me if you need anything...713-291-6332.

Just letting fellow Brats know that directly & indirectly, I have had contact with those Brats in New Orleans & Gulfport during Katrina. Matt Young (AB'84) made it safely out with his fmaily to his grandmother's house. Larson Norton (AB'83) & his family evacuated to his in-laws in Kinder, La. They have their 3 kids & got some thier horses rescued. Julie Dickinson (DH'91??) & her mother lost everything in Gulfport, but managed to survive with her grandmother. Your thoughts, prayers & donations are MUCH APPRECIATED. Thanks

It really makes me sad to see what has happen to Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. I am originally from New Orleans and I have family that still lives there. I have been in contact with most of them, but communication is terrible. It breaks my heart to think of what their homes will be like once they return. It makes me mad to see what is happening to the city. Once a great city has now been turned to riots, rape, murder. Its terrible. I pray for anyone who has family or friends from any areas affected by Katrina. Keep your heads high. We will all be okay if we stick together.

Kerilyn Martin <kaaskop99@aol.com> DH 93 1993
Allen, Texas - September 01, 2005 at 23:03:47
Baton Rouge is coming back on line, but there are still areas without power. Communication is sometimes difficult because of the number of people trying to reach loved ones. All shelters in Baton Rouge have been filled to capacity with evacuees and refugees. Cities further north are now opening shelters. The citizens of Baton Rouge are donating clothing and necessities to the shelters and are really stepping up. I'm going to bring donations today from myself and other friends here at work. We collected money and they went shopping. They came across others doing the same thing. Some friends with boats went to New Orleans to help with the rescue.

Even with all of Louisiana and it's neighboring states pulling together, the shear number of homeless is putting a strain on everyone. I would like to make an appeal to all Brats to please do what they can to help.

Yesterday evening, on my way home from work, I saw convoys of full buses coming into the city from New Orleans and empty buses going to New Orleans. These people have lost everything: their homes, their jobs, their friends, their family....we don't want them to lose their hope too. There are numerous ways to help.

Baton Rouge Area Foundation — Tax deductible donations to the Hurricane Katrina Displaced Residents Fund and the Hurricane Katrina New Orleans Recovery Fund are being accepted online at http://www.brac.org . Donations by check should be made out to the Baton Rouge Area Foundation and mailed or delivered to 402 N. Fourth St., Baton Rouge, La., 70802. (225) 387-6126.

American Red Cross — http://www.redcross.org

Salvation Army USA - http://www.salvationarmyusa.org/, To donate by phone, call 1-800-SAL-ARMY, To donate by mail, send checks, earmarked 'disaster relief,' to PO BOX 4857 JACKSON, MS 39296-4857.

Thank you

I'm here in the land of ten thousand lakes, Minnesota, USA. Diana Lynn (Boxer Rescue) has undoubtedly told you of my arrival along with much trivia about supposed OCDs that I possess.

The tree came out of the river bottom nicely. I was on the dock high and dry whilst she was knee, waist oh the hell with it I'm going to get wet, deep in water picking out the branches while I walked them to the bank on the tip of a four pronged hay rake.

While traipsing around on the soft bottom, Diana came up with "clams." Actually, after trying to Google up a way to cook the things, we found out they were fresh water mussels and a bit endangered. So, being the good citizen that I am, I tossed em back in the river. (That along with the fact that I was too lazy to process them to my belly)

Later, I'll load some photos onto my web site for your enjoyment. Check brat chat for a link soon.

My family is putting together photo albums for the Dickinsons (Dhahran) to try and replace some of what they lost when their home, their store, and Grant's home were destroyed in the disaster in Gulfport, MS earlier this week. We are asking people to make copies of photographs of the kids when they were little, Holiday parties, sports photos, class pictures, dance photos, weddings, etc. and to send them to us at: The Kultgens, 11841 Overlook Pass, Austin, TX 78738. Please feel free to send messages for the Dickinsons as well. Thank you in advance for your help.

I have a wonderful Lebanese cookbook which a good friend gave me while we were living in Hong Kong several years ago. She has moved several times, now resides in Geneva, and I am not sure if I have the correct contact info for her. Anyway, I have some questions about ingredients listed in this cookbook and I know that one of you out there, about the same year as me but I don't remember who you are, specializes in Middle Eastern cooking. Any chance of getting some clarification??? Much appreciated... I would like to know what is "snobar", what is "silq", and what do the Lebanese mean by gourds? Anyone?

Hello all,

Just wanted to give everyone an update on the condition of my sister, Heather Boyes.
Two days ago she was rushed to the emergency room again with intense pain and numbness in her arms. After a CT scan and various other tests they have decided that her heart is not as stable as they had originally thought. The transplant team had wanted to wait until the antibodies in her blood had subsided before performing any further surgery, but this process is not happening fast enough. So they have decided to go ahead with the transplant despite the inherent risk of rejection. They will instead begin cleansing her blood in a series of treatments that is similar to dialysis. This is not ideal, but they hope this will reduce the chances of her body rejecting the new heart, when one becomes available. Her condition is compounded by the fact that her blood type, B+, is found in only 2% of the population.

She is at home again, but feeling pretty bad. She is in a lot of pain and spends most of her time in bed. If you know her, or just want to let her know you're thinking about her, please don't hesitate to write her an email or send her a card. Her contact information is listed below. She may not get back to you, but she gets everything that is sent to her and hearing from all of you means a lot to her. If you'd like to call her, or have any other questions, please contact me know at my email below.

I just found out some tragic news about Erik Meuhlenkamp from the class of 1992. He was kind of shy growing up, so many of you may not have known him. He was just diagnosed with a serious formof cancer caused by asbestos poisoning in his apartment, and was given two weeks to live. Please send your thoughts and prayers to him and his family during this difficult time.

Well, well, well, Where do I begin? Wow so much has happened here for me. Umm ok here we go. After returning from Mexico for a soul-searching month stay, I returned to Scottsdale with no money, no place, no cell-phone, and no car. How do you like those odds?? So i managed to survive with freinds then found some work.........one thing led to another and I labded a nice hotel job. I was determined to find what is is I "really" wanted to do for money. Cartooning was the answer. I would sit at Starbucks and draw and draw and draw. Slowly but surely people began to approach me and ask questions, then ask for prices, then referred me to others. I was making money doing what I loved. Not alot but I knew that that is what I wanted. I hated working for others( and still do). I walkd into a print shop where I put a book together of my best work. Legendary cartoonist Bill Keane (Family-Circus) is shown my work by a worker who knew me. He writes me a note. I walk in the next day kinda bummed because I felt like there were no results in my life. The worker hands me the note and at that instant I knew........I just knew. So now that is what I am persueing. I have been offered an Intructor's position at Sun City Learning Institute for the fall of 06' teaching cartooning. I am now getting ready to submit my work to the largest Syndications in America. So next time you see a "garfeild" book on the shelves, mine will be right there. Ok thats my story!!!!! umm yeah...........Christy, Steve Sam, Ramzi, Kevin, And Carla H. I miss you guys................oh my number is 602-301-1596...............I knew my path would be different but I had no Idea!!! hahaha....LIVE!!!!!!!

Whew! It's a hot day in Houston today! And today I'm reflecting back on the hot days of Saudi. One by one, we'd all show up at the pool in Abqaiq, spend the day there hanging out, eat lunch at the snack bar, then after the day at the pool was over, we'd jump in our golf carts and eat dinner at the Golf club! Ahhhh...those were the days, what brats we were and we had no clue at the time that one day we would miss it!!!! Have a great day, brats!!! :)

Hey kids!

Strangest thing, I was just thinking about Shimul Kothari this morning. Don't ask me why, we only hung out together a couple of times after we went on the Russia trip. Hi Shimul! Congrats on the wedding!

Rahmzi, it's been a while. Write back, dude.
Angie - HI!!!

Also Susan Schwyn. Hey, remember our piano competition tour with my mom, your grandma and Mrs. Azar? Holy cow the abuse we suffered :)

Sarah Hills, I remember you too. I'm sorry, but the first memory that comes to mind was you blushing during a Social Studies presentation in Mr. Cherry's class. Weird.

So many names triggering so many memories!

Hi everyone! The Houston Reunion Rocked, we all had such a good time. Ran into lots of old friends from my R.T. days in the 80's. I was hoping to see some friends from Abqaiq, such as Amy Renaud, Kellie M, and Lisa Barry, but maybe they'll make it to the next one! It was good to see the Ransoms there, they still don't ever miss a party! I had a good time with everyone and felt right at home surrounded by all the brats. Can't wait til the next reunion!

Hey I'd just like to thank the people who organized the reunion. I had an absolutely phenomenal time.
It was amazing to see how living in Saudi Arabia affected us all in really positive ways. I'm happy to have had the chance to reconnect with people and remember a side of myself that is usually beyond other's comprehension and requires too much explanation. Was really freeing to be around people who knew exactly where you were coming from.

Try to keep your head up to the sky...
Lovers they may cause you tears,
Go ahead release your fears,
Stand up and be challenged
Dont be ashamed to cry..

You gotta be, you gotta be bad, you gotta be bold, you gotta be wiser,
You gotta be hard you gotta be tough you gotta be stronger,
You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm, you gotta stay together,
All I know all I know is love will save the day.

Brant Polkowski, your web page is dead, email me and give me a usable email addy for you! Anne Cook, how come I never got a wedding invitation? (I ask this NOW five years after the fact.) Jason Kendrick, where the crud did you go? I assume you are not still in Costa Rica, you would have run out of money by now. Albert Huang, check in to Betty Ford! Nick Woo, yer cool. Anyway, I am still living here in Washington serving on the same submarine. The only difference is I married a lovely lady on March 4th. Married life is treating me well so far. That's about it. I DO miss the desert, though. I'll probably never go back, which saddens me. Scott Boyes, I hope they find a donor soon. Peace.

My previous email addresses are all defunct. I now have control of woolheater.net until 2013 so the email will be good until then. If I haven't responded in a very long time to anyone, I'd like you guys to know I lost my hard drive shortly after getting in touch with other brats. Figured I'd just say hey. And Annie, if you read this, then I promise to keep in touch better.

Hello fellow brats! I only recognize a few names so far - hi to Sonya Boot & Todd Zukowski. Not sure if you remember me, but hope you guys are doing well. I am trying to find Jolie Outlaw, DH class of 83. I noticed her brother Nathan posted a message in April 2004. I emailed him but not sure if he ever received it. Any contact info would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone remember Julie Burton? Would like to get in touch with her as well, but it would be great to hear from any of you. Take care!

So while all of you are out there getting jobs and getting married, I will still be splitting my time between the library and college parties :)

Anyways, Does anyone know of a henna lady (?) in the san francisco bay area? As my parents have already left the magic kingdom, I can not go back to get my henna done. All that I have been able to find are those cheap henna tatoo things.

Hello to all! It's been a few years since I last posted a message, so I figured now's a good time. I got married last August and have been having a great time since. Louise Tuin came from New Zealand, as well as Adria Reimer and Melinda Hagen. Yaser Al-Nimr visited us last December for several days, so it was really cool to see him again.

I had been living in Atlanta for the past 4 years after finishing my Masters program in '01 and just moved to Denver about a month ago. My brother, Brent Van Slooten, lives in Westminster - about 20 minutes away from me, and my parents live in Colorado Springs so it's definitely nice to be near family again.

I'm planning on taking (and passing) the last part of the CPA exam next month. So my life is not much fun right now with all this studying. Hopefully it will pay off! I'm really hoping to go to the reunion next month. That will also give me a perfect excuse to visit my other brother, Ryan and Kelley and see my wonderful niece and nephew.

Best wishes to all. Scott Boyes: I will keep your sister in my thoughts.

This site is awesome! I lived in Abqaiq during 2nd, 3rd & part of 4th grade- Grace & Merrie Carson were friends of mine who gave me the nickname "Mindy" and it has stuck with me ever since! In 4th grade we moved to Dhahran - I rode horses with Vicki Fate- then sometime during 5th grade we moved to Bahrain for a few years- then back to Mississippi in the fall of '72. My family was good friends with the Erwins - Bill & Mary, and their boys, Mike, James & Jess, whom I see regularly. My parents were Paul & Kaye Giachelli, sadly they have been gone for many years now. If anyone remembers a skinny girl from Mississippi, send me a note - I would love to hear from you- would also love to hear from the Carson twins- it's been way too many years! Take care and have ag reat time at the reunion!

Hello,
Just wanted to give you all an update on Heather's conditon. Unfortunately she is not recovering as we had hoped. A couple days ago, she complained of numbness in her arm and tongue and was rushed to the emergency room. After many tests, the doctors found that one of her bypasses was not successful. They tried to insert a stint to open it up, but this was not successful either.
They are going to put in a pacemaker to keep her heart beating regularly, but the doctors have said her heart is failing. She is being put on the transplant list.
If any of you knew her, this is the time to let her know that you care. Needless to say, she is very upset and very frightened for her children. Updates are coming in by the hour and we are still not sure what the timeline is for all of this.
I have posted her contact information below again for anyone who would like to get in touch with her.
You can always write me at this address if you would like to be put on my list of those included in the email updates.
Heather is very scared right now, as we all are. Please keep her in you thoughts as we move through this difficult time.

Sincerely, Scott

Just looking to see if there are any familiar names or if anyone remembers me or my sister, Krissy ('91) or brother, Andy ('96). I've found a couple old friends through the internet (Beth Hannah, Deepa Chacko) recently, and its been fun to get re-acquainted.

I'm so sorry to hear about Heather. I think we were in Brownies together way back when. I hope she recovers fully...as a mom, I can't imagine that happening.

I live in Oviedo, FL just NE of Orlando, and the majority of my family lives in the area. My mother, Bette Harris, is living now with my youngest sister, Moira. I'll list the rest of the family with approximate dates if we had stayed in SA. We arrived there early 1950s -- Gail '67, Betty Lou '68, Mike '70, Moira '75? and finally my youngest brother, Shawn was born in the USA the year my folks left SA - '67, as the rest of the family enjoyed many adventures in Ethiopia. After SA, I was drafted, met my wife in Vietnam and all 3 of our offspring have college degrees despite being dragged around the world as military brats. We are contemplating a move towards the local beaches, but may want to consider more temperate climes. My wife now goes to Vietnam every year since I left the Army in 1997 and I accompanied every other while working, but every trip now. We supported her mother, sister & husband + their 2 children for the last 30+ years. I am slowed significantly after 3rd back surgery and not allowed by MDs to work. The acupuncture work done there has been very helpful and is cheap!!! I'd love to hear from all and plan to attend this reunion with at least 1-2 other siblings this year. Who else will be coming from '65-'68?

Greetings to my dearest friends and acquaintances,

Once again this website continues to amaze me! I've just seen the ABQ 91 reunion photos and am shocked to see that you’re still alive Scott! I have to admit I wasn't sure that you'd make it! do you still bear the wounds from the flaming arm incident? Also Master Cain Sr. doesn't seem to have aged a day since I last saw him! good to see that you’re both keeping well!

I'm not a regular contributor here but I thought I'd make an exception this time to let everyone who knows my sisters know that Maree is now engaged and will probably be getting married in the next year or so. I reckon she'd like to hear from many of you so if you want to get in touch with her. her email address is:

maree-dot-stevenson-at-gmail-dot-com

In the meantime to Abqaiq's class of 1993 I think of you all often and I hope that all of you are keeping well! It’s almost twelve years since we were all sitting blindfolded on a bus on our way back to the dining hall to dance with our parents! ha! I hope that too much more time doesn't pass before we're all in the same place at the same time again! To those of you with whom I damaged some of my most important internal organs, I hope that you too are all well, especially those of you I haven't seen or heard from for years, particularly the Brian M's, Scott, Doug & Steve B! And finally, to the lads...ooonoi noonoi...I had to give you all a special mention there & promise that once I'm finished in October I'll keep in touch a little better!

Hello all,

Just thought the Aramco community would like to know that my sister Heather Boyes had a heart attack this past week and subsequent triple bypass surgery. She turned 30 this past july.

She is now in stable condition and, from what my mother tells me, speaking a little. She had just given birth to her third child just days before.

For those of you who know about this sort of thing, the doctor said it was: Spontaneous Arterial Dissection. Basically, pieces of the inner wall of her artery broke free and stopped blood supply to her heart. The doctor who operated on her said he does 300-500 surgeries a year and this is the second time he has seen this happen. It is apparently most common in post-partum women.

It will be a long road to recovery. We are still unsure how much damage was done to her heart.
Family, friends, and neighbors are all pitching in to help her husband with the two children, and their newborn.
I know she would really love to hear from all of you in this difficult time. Her contact information is below. Scott

Margaret Boyes - Heather (Boyes) Anderson's mother watnted me to post the following regarding Heather.

On Saturday night at 10 pm she finished nursing new baby Luke Evan and handed him to Chad and said that she was having terrible chest pains and to call 911 - saying again I'm serious - call 911. We called and
waited only a few minutes for them to come. They brought her to a hospital that has a wonderful cardiac unit. I waited until Chad's mother came to stay with the 3 children and I went over about 1l pm. The Dr. who did the heart cath said that they needed to do surgery and do it now - she had a heart attack and was having another one there. Dr. Caskey came in and everyone involved, including the cath Dr. said that he would be the one that he would want in these circumstances. She underwent a triple by-pass during the night. They took veins from her leg and chest
wall for that. The surgery was a heart pumping one - they did not stop the heart. When all was connected the heart pinked up well but all was not functioning. We do not know how much function will be lost, etc.
She is stable this morning, although when she was writing us notes on the clipboard yesterday she was in unbearable pain in spite of all the meds but could not have more for pain as it made some of the other numbers go up or down so they put her under more sedation. They will try to wean her off the respirator today. Sister Carol's research points out
how rare this kind of heart attack is - many victims are post partum women. Don't know why the interior wall of an artery tears, leaking blood between the interior and exterior walls of the artery, shearing off other arteries in its path, hence the triple she needed. She needs your prayers and love. Will try to keep you informed. Terry comes in today. Friends and neighbors helping out here. We will be moving house in a couple of weeks - crazy time in all of our lives. We pray she will be better soon to enjoy the new home she picked out recently with more bedrooms for the growing family!

Love, Margaret

Margaret and Terry can be reached via e-mail at MABoyes@aol.com. Heather's e-mail address is c_anderson85032@hotmail.com (Heather will not be able to check e-mail for a little while, but her mother is checking her e-mail daily)

They retired to Vancouver, BC, I believe and have a son, Larry, also a doctor who is in Virginia. My mother desperately would like to speak with Ruby if possible. They exchanged cards periodically and at least annually at Xmas, but has not had a card in awhile nor a way to check. Today, I am writing with regret that my older brother Donnie has past away. I am so confused right now and I cannot think straight but I believe he would have graduated from ninth grade with the class of 1987. Donnie had such a beautiful mind and a loving heart. I just hope that you who remember him still think of him. Donnie had a beautiful daughter named Darian Stoetzel in 1994. She thinks the world of her father and is very heart broken by her fathers death. Donnie was a very smart person and had soooooo much going for him. I loved him so much. Donnie was only 33 years old. I hope that there are still a few of you that still remember him and care about him. I know he meant the world to me. It doesn't seem real to me. I don't know if it will ever seem real to me. I know that my oldest child realizes what is going on but my younger two do not realize what has really happened.
Those of you who remember my brother please write me. I would like to hear from you.
Thanks for listening,

Wow! I haven't left a message in a long time. My class in particular has been VERY BAD about keeping in touch...despite the fact that we are one of the few classes with our own webpage...thanks to Gretchen! Been thinking about the "good old days" a lot lately. Can you believe Anthony Benware and Laura Young-McGirt both have babies??? Well, I'm missing everyone so shoot me an email.

I am interesting in connecting with DH classes in early 50s. Just discovered Rolf Christopherson's website. It is wonderful.

Just discovered this site last night, it is quite a blast from the past. I probably recognised more names from my brothers' time (Ryu and Miki) than my own. I remember Mrs Robinson, Mrs Zebronich (spelling?) Miss Tofano and Mrs Higdon - does anyone remember purple passes? I knew a kid called Charles who always had more than me =0( I would love to hear from the likes of Sirin Torpis (younger sister called Emil), Jill Saturback (who had older sisters called Anne and Becky) , Jill Oliver, Julia Moench and anyone else who remembers me. As for my younger brothers.... if all goes well, Ryu should be unleashed on the National Health Service sometime this summer - can't believe it! As a doctor, not as a patient. And Miki is now a Royal Marine commando and is stationed in Iraq, hopefully he will be out soon.

OOPS!! I didn't mention that my sister, Dana, also lives nearby. She was in 3rd grade when we left Saudi. I think her graduation year would have been 1991, but I'm not sure!

Hello Everyone! I haven't checked in on this site in AGES! I just read the last year's worth of postings. I definitely recognized some names. It's wonderful to read the messages and relive such terrific memories.

I have been looking for Tina Aguto for years. If anyone knows where she is, please e-mail me.

Also, just want to send a few-days-belated birthday greeting to Roger Patel (his bday was 1/9). And Danny Simpton is celebrating his birthday on 1/13. If any of you happen to see them, wish them the best -- and tell them I said hello!! I do talk to Danny sometimes. He is in Texas. I think Roger is as well. Adrienne Costas (now Belaire) actually lives in Dhahran. She and her husband, Jeff, have two beautiful sons.

As for me, I live in Delaware with my husband of 11 years (Eric) and my two sons. Alexander is 8 yrs old and in 3rd grade. Justin is 5 yrs old and in Kindergarten. My brother, John, lives nearby and has 3 children. He graduated from UDH in 84.

I hope all is well with you. Drop me a note if you remember me. And HAPPY 2005!!

Merry belated Christmas and a Happy New Year to all Aramco Brats. Thank you Peni for the reunion in Vegas. I can't express in words how much fun I had. For all of those who could not make it, I hope you make the next one. It's funny how it was like we've never been apart. It is even better when you can walk up to someone you haven't seen in ten years and give them a hug. Praying to god that person recognizes you. Oh, what a feelin!!!!!!!!!!! We are brothers and sisters. Even to the people we did not get alond with. Love you all.
