Hope everyone had a great Christmas! Masroor's wedding was BEAUTIFUL and HUGE (700 people!) Logan, Andy, and Justin have grown up quite a bit since I last saw them (of course they were 15), but it was just like old times. If anyone would like me to email them some pics. let me know. :)

Been awhile since I've looked in on this site. Quite a few changes. I remember about 7 of you on here. Debbie Page, Maria Turissini, The Nichols girls, Steff White. I'd like to share that Pat Davis was the best man in my wedding in 2001. Hope you're all well. Drop me a note if you see this. I have been in touch with Tanya V, Chrissy Rigney, Julie Pavlat, Michelle Milliken, Tres Hundertmark and thats it. Anyway, hope to hear from you soon.

Just want to say hey to all yall other Aramco brats, Saudi was da bomb and that we should all kinda think about moving back here one day and letting our kids have the same freedom we experienced. But it is good to get out of here once in a while if you know what i mean.
peace out

I just learned that the only American killed in the
earthquake in Iran was an Aramco Brat. So tragic.
My heartfelt best wishes to Tobb Delloro's parents
in this sad time goes out from all. If brother Torr is
still working in Saudi Arabia in the Aviation Dept. its time for him to come home now for good to be with his parents during this time. Aramco and Dhahran is just not the same as when all of our kids grew up there
in the 60's and 70's. Our prayers are with you all.

Happy Holidays to all!! Haven't been to the site in a while so I figured I would see who's around. Anyway this time of year always brings back memories of Christmas with friends and the Returning student parties that wouldn't stop until you returned to school. I remember several flights from Dhahran with student puking in the isle or passing out in their seats. Aha the good old days. Well still need to finish my Christmas shopping in ture last minute fashion. Hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday and any Brats in the military, Thanks.

Looking for that perfect stocking stuffer for your brother, sister, or yourself? Check out the Brat Store (http://www.cafepress.com/aramcobrats/), where you can buy clothes, coffee mugs, hats, and other items with the Dhahran, Ras Tanura, or Abqaiq logo printed on them. All purchases come with a 30-day money-back-guarantee, so if you have any problems with your purchase, you can return the item for a 100% refund.
If you're interested in buying things for Christmas, you should move quickly: the printing takes a day or two, but shipping can take as long as 10 days depending on which option you choose. CafePress says you need to place your order by Dec 7 if you want the cheapest shipping rates, by Dec 15 if you want to use UPS Ground, and December 19 if you want to use UPS 2-Day.

Life seems to have passed me by in the ten years since I have left Saudi. I have not missed out on the fun times, fun is all I know! It's just that most of my peers seem to have molded into the hustle and bussel of adult life. Careers, children, and mortgages seem to have sucked the youth out of many. What happend to those Thursdays hanging out at third street, and whatching skate videos at the youth center. When is the last time you played golf for free, or rode dirt bikes in the "R" section desert. All I want in life is to be a kid, and with an up-bringing like we all had in the playland called Aramco, why not? Aramcons are not afraid of hard work, but we sure as he** know how to play. Just remember to work as little as possible, and to play like a carefree aramco brat! I have been spending lots of time out of town, just surfing and skateboarding. Yeah, remember skateboarding. I hope you haven't given-up skateboarding. All I'm tryin to say is that you don't have to become a CEO or Brain surgen. Happieness is being an aramco brat. If you don't believe me just try to think of a school in the U.S. that will send your kid to Nepal or Russia at 14 years old.....! Live it up! If in San D call 858-344-4036 for a good time!

She still seems to like me, despite everything :) Workin' for the Man at Apple, counting the days (or years) till I can leave my hellish commute behind and move to a smaller city/town where people aren't so...LA.
And now for my random Saudi flashback: Back in Udhailiyah (old-school Udhaliyah), I vaguely remember there being some sort of contest in the junior high where you had to come up with and perform an Aramco-themed song. One group had a rehash of the Facts of Life TV show theme-song. The top was the "Eye of the Tiger" cover, "Eye of the Aramcon". I can still hear it now. Make the voices stop.

What is up Aramco peoples. Just checking in after receiving a few random phone calls, seeing if we know anyone. Hating to sound redundant but none the less we will continue saying, "Drop us a line or give us a call 317.917.1990!" We love random calls to shoot the shi'ite with our saudi brethren. Peace, but not in the middle east. Lata!

I just found this Web site and reading messages from my classmates and all the people who graduated after us made me feel damned old. Any of my former comrades out there? Drop me a line and let me know what's happening in your lives. I've moved to Alaska to make up for my 13 years of equatorial life in Saudi Arabia. It's nice and cold up here! And I don't have to worry about getting a sunburn.

Andra is as elegant as she always was, and who the hell knew Carlo MacDonald was going to grow up to be handsome? There are so many people that i remember from RT and Dhahran. but RT will always hold a special place in my heart. That is where I learned to speak English and where I made my first friends in Mrs. Schultze's first grade class back in 1975. I also played soccer with Steve Woelfel, Randy Rigsby, Henry Santalices and lots of other people. Unfortunately, my Dad got transferred to Dhahran where I spent my last two jr high years. I love Dhahran also , but that was when I became a returning student. So if any of you RT people remember me,please drop me a line. The next reunion is going to be in my domain of Houston. Hello,
I was stationed in DH back in 94. Every week or so I and a group of people would come over to the Aramco Compound and have dinner with a family there. It was really nice for them to share their hospitality with us (military not much welcomed in Saudi). Anyway the family who invited us would fix a huge bowl of Hummus. I have since searched for a recipe that even comes close to what it tasted like. So far I have been very unseccussful. Could someone there who knows how the Saudi's make Hummus, please send me a recipe.

Hey all, it's great reading your messages. Who can forget the infamous curb or that steep bmx hill? I remember how deserted the whole place was Jan 91. I remember long nights, cool breezes, great people, the rush of sneeking a drink, and plenty of laughs. I can't believe how young we were or the stellar deals we got on gold! I see junior high kids out here and can't hardly make sense of it. Remember all those long plane flights, those super hot and dry summer winds, the sun setting in Abqaiq? Just awesome. It was all so tangible, now just memories.
Arran congratulations on your flight license! Chris, you play the guitar? Hi to Lisa (Stoetzel) White, Todd Blankenship, Mark & Lori Robinson, Robin Robinson, Marc Hebert, the Burritos, Umbreen Nehal, Angie Campbell, Vino, and whoever else my poor brain can't recall at the moment . . .

As I scroll down the listings, I am immediately struck how far and wide we (brats) are spread out all over the world. Being a brat was truly an amazing experience that I can only hope to replicate, in small ways, for my own children one day. I am currently living in Philadelphia, PA as I have been for the past three years. (Hopefully not more than 2 more years) My husband will be graduating for Univ. of Penn medical school in May 2005, at which time we will move where ever his residency in Orthopaedic Surgury takes us. For now, working in special events and fundraising at a private school, but looking to move back to a university setting soon. I hear occasionally from other RT brats including Robert Wagner, Beth Lowden, John Carron, Jannel Miller (Heaston), Wendy Morgan, Michelle Mahoney, Peter Dias, and Orlando Rockwell (or atleast hear of them). I could dig up various contact info if desired email me. Of course my sister, Raina, is also around. That is about it here...please email me, love to hear from you.

Greetings to all! I was pleasantly surprised to find several names that I recognized here. I am just west of Seattle on the Kitsap peninsula serving in the Navy as a sonar technician on SSBN 731 (G) USS Alabama, a nuclear missle submarine. I just wanted to say hello to everyone before I head off to sea for a while. I will be back on land a little before halloween so if you write me before then and get no response, that is the reason! But don't let that keep you from dropping me a line! I would love to hear from any of my fellow brats out there. I recently have been in contact with Brant Polkowski (DH 93) and Jason Kendrick (DH 93). Brant is in Las Vegas and I hope to make my yearly pilgrimage to Sin City to visit him in November. Last I heard from Jason, he was in Costa Rica somewhere but could very well be back in the US by now. Ravi Gadad (DH) emerged briefly to tell of his impending marriage but again that was a while ago. I am so excited, and if anyone is 1) on the way out West and would like a visit, or 2) lives in LA and wants to meet up, let me know! Also, as both my parents were involved heavily in the school system and K's Dance School, I have recently come across thousands (literally!) of pictures of anyone and everyone you can think of at dance shows, Halloween parades, AEA events, and school functions. If you would like pictures of yourself or friends to enjoy, or to use at weddings, etc. please let me know! My parents are consolidating homes, and duplicates of everything is truly unnecessary. Well, the time has come. My boyfriend, Rafael, is opening his bar in Austin!! The big public opening won't be until late August, but it'll be open for operation for friends...so let's have a little Saudi Reunion! I'm thinking Saturday, August 16th. Let's party like Saudis - get drunk and hook up - just kidding. :) Let's just reminisce about old times and catch up on new times. This message is to get the word out and see what the response is...If you are interested, or know someone in the Texas area who'd be interested, please copy and send this message to them and have them email/call me. I'd like to have a rough idea of the number of people interested by the end of the week (Friday, Aug.1st). Then I'll send all the details and info. If we can all make it, it'll be a fun, super-successful party!!

It is so strange to hear that everyone is getting married, having kids, etc! I remember everyone as being 14 years old! Ahh, the good old days. It is nice to see familier names; Julie, congratulations on law school. We've all come so far. I'm still in school here at ASU, I should graduate in a couple years. It's amazing how changing your major 5 times will slow down progress. Congratulations to everyone on all of their achievements. If anyone is down here in Phoenix, let me know, I'd love to see you.

This is my first time on the site but I've seen a few familiar names. I've been in Austin for the last 6 years and plan to spend the next 2 years trying to graduate from UT so I can become a teacher. I've lost touch with a lot of Aramco people. I know that Alan Lambert (RT, '97) went into the army last year and is currently head over heels in love with a friend that I introduced him to a couple of years ago in Austin. Brian Chu (DH '97) is in Washington State and is coming to visit us in Austin in the next few days. Sarah Sondrol (RT '97) is also in Austin and her baby Kenzie just turned a year old in May. Austin's great and I don't plan on moving anytime soon so if anybody is around Texas and wants to contact me, email me at littlegirl_82@hotmail.com

Hello all friendly city dwellers, I hope this message finds you all well, especially in these tryng times of middle eastern turmoil. I had the honor of spending an evening with none other than the McKiethan Boys, and Abqaiq's one and only, Peter Bastowros. It was one hell of a good time. All we needed to make it official was a damned security guard yelling " Stop, Boy, ID, ID" The mischief was in the air!!! It brought back memories, missed dearly by all of us. It is funny, when I hook up with fellow Saoods, it is like for an instant I am back home. Cherish those memories habibes!! And as always, has anyone heard of or from Trevor Bird. I just looked at the "Received Registration" list and there are still a lot of names that haven't been posted that are indeed going, myself included. Only because I waited till the last minute. Anyway, can't wait to see everyone there. See you all out by the pool.... Inshala!!

It has been at least a year since I've checked this site. I am going to get my yearbook out when I get home so I can put some faces with these familiar names. The 2001 reunion was awesome, but I'm not going to be able to make this one. Shout out to Sonya, Kyna, Michele, Cheryl, Amanda, Leslie, Mazin. I would love to hear from anyone who remembers me or my sister or brothers. (Julie, Ron, Roy Gavin) Everyone take care and have a great summer!

Man, it's becoming a LOT more unpopular to have lived in Saudi Arabia. I hope everyone's ok, and would love to hear who's coming back because this crap is the last straw. Kind of depressing, isn't it? Makes you miss the relatively idyllic times of our youth.

WOOOOOOWHEEEEEE!!!! I'm beginning my quest to return to the homeland!!! Okay... well... maybe it's a bit delayed but I plan on making a triumphant return... one day. Speaking of... is everybody being concentrated in Dhahran with all the other camps shutting down? Friend of mine told me that and from what it seemed before I left it sure looked that way. RT was almost a ghost town from what it used to be when I lived there and my best friend's family moved to Dhahran like half a year after I left. SAY IT AIN'T SO!!! I love the RT night life too much!!! heh.

Random Thoughts: Anybody remember Mohammed at the Youth Center? Remember how funny it was to get him so pissed off that he would threaten to throw his sandle at you? That, or call his Security friend (who was really the the midget that worked at the Skateing Rink that no one went to)? Or what about how much fun it was to get chased by security and hide in the golf course? Watching them drive around frantically trying to find us was the biggest adrenaline rush. Remember how cool you were considered if you had the new Metal Edge or Hit Parader? The pin-ups were treated like GOLD to us brats! If you had a "4-pager" or (holy $#!+) an "8-pager", they were worth $$$ (or should I say riyals). Remeber how much we used to dream about becoming a returning student while we sat outside the Youth Center on the curb. Then what happens? We become returning students, only to sit outside the returning student center on the curb (oooooohhhhh).

If anyone remembers my father Art Sundberg (Dhahran - auditor 1948-77), I thought old Aramco friends would want to know that he passed away just this past Tuesday, April 29 at the age of 81 from late-stage prostate cancer. My mom passed away just last August (2002), so it's two blows in less than a year. Ann and I are managing, but we'd appreciate it if you could pass on the news to any brats or parents who lived in Dhahran in those years. They probably knew Art and Marianne (the town was so small!).

Hey everyone, I was just passing through the website and reading some messages, made me think of the good ole' worry free days. Eating at the snackbar, the water slide by the pool, that sad sad miniture golf course and the movie theatre...with it's one choice of movie. Right now I'm a sophomore at UC Davis, GO AGGIES, taking up Environmental Policy. Unfortunately I didn't see many of my old friends with posts, *sniff sniff* I hope you all remember me. Andy, Michael Treibwaser (man I could never spell your last name), J.J., David, Robert (Well I still hear from you Bubs), and of Course Shawn Randolph my old best friend. *sigh* the good ole days when our sorry butts couldn't get dates to any dances. Oh and some of you older folks (around 5 years older) may remember my big sis, Elaine Lim. I'm sure she'd like to hear from her old friends too so you can just drop a line for either one of us. Peace out, and keep on smiling

I just thought I'd check in wish everyone a peaceful year. In case anyone was wondering Alex (brother), is doing amazing and about to head off to London for audio-technology school. ~pam

Hey folks...I wanted to ask a question. It's been a while since I've been in SA ('87) and was wondering if, after everything settles down in the middle east, would it still be worth it to go back over and become an aramcon myself? I really don't know how much things would or would not have changed over there. ANY feedback would be most appreciated. Please feel free to click on my e-mail address below and throw me a few words 'o wisdom. Thanks! :)

It'd be great to hear from you :) Finding such websites makes me want to go back to RT... I miss nice mild weather winters, I can't stand the cold I get here in KS :P If you're wondering I'm working on getting a degree in Computer Interactive Media (I have a background in communication design), I still love learning foreign languages (French, Russian - those are my best but I've also studied a little German and Spanish), and of course I figure skate (my coach is the 1996 World Pairs Champion, Marina Eltsova - she's a wonderful person). Anyway, write me. I can't wait to hear from you!

I enjoyed the website. I just wanted to tell all of you that I admire the friendships and support you have provided for each other and my family over the years. My grandparents, along with my father and his sisters, were one of the first American families out in Saudi and it has always been a part of our family. I know my father (Fred E. Abbott III) and my aunts (Margot Abbott and Carol Abbott Merrell) love the friendships they have with all of you - and the reunions. Thank you for that! I don't remember living in Saudi as a child (my sister does) so your website has been nice to look at - thanks. Keep up the good work. Sabrina E. Abbott

Hey, lets all meet in Al-Khobar and EAT!! We can go to one of the street stands, get our blue (or red) chips and have Abdula make us a good ol' tasty SHWARMA, complete with Pakistani sweat and boogers. Of corse, we could also just stay in town and go to the Dinning Hall. I'm going to have the steak on the bent@$$ plates that they have not replaced in about 47 years. After we eat, we should go to the movies. I think they are playing Batman 1 right now. Next, we can go to the youth center and sit on the curb!! Man, do I have my Wednesday night planned out or what!

Evy, it was really great hearing from you. Mark M. you stay out of trouble with the women in the bars there, cause you know how we are...Well new year and so far not so bad. Evy I'm planning on taking a road trip to see my little sister in Cali. you should meet us there, just kiddin'. Well, in case you are wondering a couple of my girlfriends and I are planning a road trip. I need to take a vacation for a bit. I kinda miss those breaks that we got to have in the summer time. I might have to give you a hollar if I get towards the east. I hope that you and your boyfriend are well. Give lots of hugs and kisses to your kids for me. You remember old pictures of me when I was a kid. Well Skyler looks exactly like me, he even acts like me when I was his age. I should have given my mom a break. Well, I'm still searching for someone who can keep up with me... you could say that I finally broke out of my shell and decided to have some fun with my life. Would you believe that I almost got married right out of high school, before I hit the big 21..wow would that have been crazy for me... Anyways, call me new number (253)332-0401..leave me a message if I don't answer, my work hours are begining to really suck for me. Mark M. call me when you're drunk cause I'd love to hear the other side of you..Oh yeah by the way I hope I didn't freak you out about that whole girl thing.... I was really hoping to get a hold of you this weekend. I got in my first bar fight..well, the truth is I caused it. Call me and I'll fill you in. Hey if anyone gets to spend some time in Seattle you have to call me, there are some hott spots I would love to hit up. Or just try Tiki Bob's Cantina, Hot women and H.O.T. men...

Well people, eight years after leaving the gulf, I'm headed back. Those of you who woke up night after night to the sound of the air raid sirens going off as a scud missile headed our way during the gulf war will appreciate how proud and privledged I feel to be heading to Kuwait to finish off Saddam for good. I'm a Navy Seabee, and will be working with the Marines in Kuwait for the next 4-6 months. If there are any other Aramco Brats out there who now serve in the military , please drop me a note. Well, gotta go- can't wait to smell the air as I step off that airplane!
